About
"Crowded classrooms and half-day sessions are a tragic waste of our
greatest national resource - the minds of our children." - Walt Disney
A little of my background.
Hi, my name is Sophia. I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. After graduating from high school at the International School of Sacred Heart in Japan, I decided to go abroad to Massachusetts, Boston to study. I went to the Art Institute of Boston with the highest scholarship.
It was mind-blowing to be exposed to so many talented individuals at the school. The Art Museums and galleries in Boston and in New York were exceptionally amazing; it really made a huge impression on me. After graduating and earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts, I had an opportunity to experience working as an intern at Grant Associates and working full time as a designer at Beaulieu Advertising Company.
After wonderful years working in Boston and New York City, I decided to pursue a career as a Graphic Designer at a weekly and monthly magazine company in Tokyo. Then worked as a Graphic Designer at Bolton Inprint, a printing company in Cairns, Australia. Several years later, I was hired as a Packaging Director for Xyron Inc. and Seiko K.K. in Tokyo. Designing and directing Packaging protocol for famous brands were challenging.
Experienced in working with a small firm and a big corporation in art/graphic design and packaging design, I have realized that I have so much to offer to all generations.
Through decades of observing how children discover creativity, I developed the Creative Journey Formula™, a structured curriculum system that guides learners through the natural stages of creative development. It is the methodology behind every Kids Art Fun program, and the subject of my book, The First 9 Discoveries for a Rich Fulfilled Life Ahead.

"My 8 year old daughter has been attending a weekly art class with Sophia for over 18 months. Sophia is a patient and kind teacher. Sophia enables her students to be creative and expressive whilst explaining the appropriate use of various media. The children enjoy Sophia's class and are proud of their works of art."
